French in 2013 (Sr.): One of the rare two-sport athletes at the Academy, he was also a member of Navy's football team that played in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and won the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy by defeating Army and Air Force ... the last Navy football player to also play lacrosse was Jame Doffermyre, Class of 2000, who played lacrosse his sophomore year (13 gms), the final two games of the 1999 season (was voted the team captain of the football team, so his focus was on spring football) and all of his senior year (13 gms) ... a member of the Navy defensive unit that was ranked 40th nationally in pass defense (215.23 yds/gm) and 54th in scoring defense (25.69 pts/gm) ... also tied for 19th in red zone defense, giving up 37 scores on 50 drives ... a starter in six of the 13 games in which he played at inside linebacker ... was the team's third-leading tackler with 79 (39-40), including two tackles for a loss on the year.
2012 (Jr.): Elected defensive team captain of the football team and sat out of the spring lacrosse season ... saw action in all 12 contests at outside linebacker, starting nine ... finished the season with 55 tackles (33-22), including 6.0 tackles for a loss of 15 yards ... the 6.0 TFL were the second most on the team ... also recorded 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
2011 (So.): Primarily played on the wings of faceoffs and as a defensive middie ... grabbed a pair of ground balls in the annual Army contest ... took his his first-collegiate shot in transition against Colgate ... grabbed a pair of grounders in Navy's win over Towson ... picked up a pair of ground balls in Navy's opener against VMI ... was cleared to play lacrosse the week leading up to the VMI contest after having shoulder surgery in the fall ... was also a member of Navy's football team that played in the 2010 Poinsettia Bowl and defeated Army and Notre Dame in `10 ... played in three games at linebacker before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against Louisiana Tech ... recorded three tackles, including a half a sack in what looked to be a breakout season.
