John Connors graduated this spring with a degree in history and has been commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy.
Navy finished the year #15 in the USILA Coaches Poll and #9 in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
The Mids finished their year with an 11-5 mark.
The Midshipmen will face Brown in the NCAA Quarterfinals next Saturday.
Five different Mids contributed points for Navy against the Black Knights.

Connors in 2016 (Sr.): Enters his senior year ranked 14th on the Mids’ career saves list with 273, trailing 13th-place Ray Finnegan (1973-74) by just 1 ... only the 20th player in school history to produce 200 saves and the 15th player to reach 250 over the course of their career.
2015 (Jr.): A Second-Team All-Patriot League selection, Connors finished the year ranked 16th nationally in goals-against average (8.57), 40th in save percentage (50.9) and 48th in saves per game (8.50) ... member of the Mids’ defensive unit that was ranked 13th in the country in scoring defense (8.57) and held 10 of its 14 opponents to single digits ... the Mids’ defense also held 7 of its last 12 opponents to scoring droughts of over 20 minutes - Holy Cross 29:55, Towson 24:38, Lafayette 22:50, Bucknell 20:18, Colgate 21:42, Army West Point 23:17, Army West Point (2) 22:46 ... turned in 8 saves at Air Force, including a save with 5 seconds left in the game on a wide-open shot by Christopher Allen to secure the win ... led a defensive effort that held Army to its second-lowest offensive output of the season (7 goals) by fending off 9 shots. 2014 (So.): Finished the season ranked 18th nationally in goals-against average (9.14), 24th in save percentage (53.5) and 26th in saves per game (10.36) ... part of a defensive unit that was ranked 20th in the country in scoring defense (9.36), 22nd in man-down defense (66.7) and 21st in caused turnovers per game (7.71) ... turned aside 10 shots on goal against NCAA Tournament-bound Maryland ... produced 13 saves in Navy’s Patriot League Tournament Quarterfinals contest at Lehigh ... behind his 14-save effort, he anchored a defensive effort that held Johns Hopkins to its lowest scoring output of the season (6) and marked just the second time it was held to single digits this spring (lost 13-9 to North Carolina) ... garnered Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week recognition for his effort ... played a near-flawelss game against No. 1-ranked Loyola and picked up Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors for his performance ... turn aside 14 shots, his second-best save performance of his career ... helped anchor a defensive effort that held the nation’s fifth-ranked offense (13.70 GPG) to its fewest of the season ... surrendered 12 goals to 15th-ranked Lehigh and turned in 6 saves ... allowed a career-high 14 goals by Towson and made just 7 stops ... with 13 saves and a career-best 81.3 save percentage, he anchored a defensive effort that helped lead the Mids to an 11-3 win over Lafayette … it was the fewest goals surrendered by Navy since its 8-2 win over sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins on April 21,2012 … meanwhile, it was the fewest goals Lafayette has scored since dropping a 10-3 decision to Army on March 24, 2012 ... surrendered 11 goals in a 21-12 win against Holy Cross in just over 55 minutes of action and made 7 saves ... turned in his second collegiate double-figure save contest against Bucknell where he made 13 stops ... produced a career-high 17 saves in Navy’s overtime loss to Georgetown ... it’s the most saves made by a Navy player since Nolan Hickey turned away 18 shots against Bucknell on 3.2.13 ... also grabbed a career-high four ground balls ... made his first collegiate start in the Mids’ opener against VMI ... the five goals surrendered by the Mids were the fewest scored by VMI in the series since 2010 when Navy won 16-5 ... it was the fewest goals allowed by Navy since defeating Johnson Hopkins 8-2 in the 2012 finale.
2013 (Fr.): Made appearances in five games where he made a combined nine saves ... the nine saves are tied as the seventh most by a freshman in school history ... it’s the most by a Plebe since RJ Wickham made 42 stops in 2009 ... made his collegiate debut in Navy’s opener vs. VMI ... made five stops and gave up two goals against the Keydets ... stepped in and played 4:32 against Bucknell after starter Nolan Hickey was flagged for a cross check ... made one save in the appearance ... played the final 8-plus minutes against Colgate and did not surrender a goal ... played the entire fourth quarter against Lehigh where he surrendered a pair of goals and made two stops ... surrendered a pair of goals and made one save in nearly 10 minutes of action against Johns Hopkins in the season finale.
