2004 Navy Men's Lacrosse Team To Be Honored

The Midshipmen won a school-record 15 games en route to their National Championship appearance in 2004.

One of the most underrated players on the Navy roster, if not the country ... teamed up with Dan Harris to form one of the most talked about defensive midfields in the country ... played in all 18 contests ... along with close defenseman Mitch Hendler, received the Coach Willis P. Bilderback Award, given the the Mids' most outstanding defensive player, at the annual Navy lacrosse banquet ... scored three goals and added a trio of assists during the season ... scored the game-winning goal in Navy's 9-8 overtime win at North Carolina which turned the season around ... also scored goals against Holy Cross and Syracuse in the National Championship ... produced assists against the Tar Heels, Hobart and Maryland ... swept up 25 ground balls, including a season-high and career-high tying three against Hobart in the regular season and at Cornell in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals ... named the Patriot League Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year after recording a 4.00 grade-point average for the fourth-consecutive semester ... one of five Navy players to be named to the Patriot League Lacrosse Honor Roll ... named the WMAR-TV Scholar-Athlete of the game during its broadcast of the Navy-Maryland contest.

Garnered ECAC All-Academic Team recognition at the conclusion of the season ... played in all 13 games and will anchor the defensive midfield alongside senior Brendan Looney ... produced his first-career goal in Navy's 12-11 victory over arch rival Army ... scored with 22 seconds remaining in the first period to give Navy a 4-3 lead ... recorded 14 ground balls, including a career-high three against the Black Knights.
