ANNAPOLIS, Md. —  On the heels of earning his first Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, Navy senior Michael Strack (North Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week it was announced by the organization Tuesday evening.

Strack, a two-year starter, helped orchestrate a defensive effort by the Mids that held Bucknell to four goals over the final 45 minutes of the contest and scoreless over the final 14:12 in a 13-8 victory. Individually, he held Tewaaraton Award Watch List member Will Sands no goals, one assist and three shots in the contest, while forcing his foe into a team-high 4 turnovers. Sands came into the contest ranked fourth in the country in both points per game (6.75) and assists per game (4.25).

The Midshipmen (3-3, 2-0 Patriot League) return to action on Saturday when they play host to Lafayette (2-4, 0-2 PL). Faceoff is slated for 12:00 pm at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.  A free live video stream will be available on PatriotLeague.TV, while the game will also be carried live on 1430 AM / 99.9 FM WNAV with Joe Miller on the call beginning at 11:45 am.

USILA National Team of the Week - 3/6/18
Christian Cuccinello, Villanova (Sr., A,  Mountain Lakes, N.J.)
* scored seven goals in a 13-12 win over Delaware; also had two goals and one assist in a 12-9 win over Drexel

Tucker Dordevic, Syracuse (Fr., M, Portland, Ore.)
* scored four goals in a 12-11 win over Virginia, including the game-winner with 12.6 seconds remaining

John Hulsman, Bellarmine (Fr., G, Baltimore, Md.)
* made 13 saves, including a man-down save in the first overtime, while allowing six goals in a 7-6 two OT win over Marquette; also made 13 saves in a 13-11 loss to Detroit Mercy

TD Ierlan, Albany (So, FO, Victor, N.Y.)
* went 24 for 24 facing off with 22 ground balls in an 11-9 win over Cornell; was one off the NCAA record for face-offs won without a loss in a game

Connor Kelly, Maryland (Sr., M, Easton, Conn.)
* became the fourth player in Maryland history to have a 10-point game with his three-goal, seven-assist performance in a 12-10 win over Notre Dame

Kevin Lindley, Loyola (Fr., A, Darien, Conn.)
* scored a Patriot League freshman record eight goals and had an assist in a 13-5 win over Holy Cross

Ian McKay, Vermont (Sr., A, Port Elgin, Ont.)
* scored four goals, including the winner in overtime, and added an assist in Vermont’s 11-10 win over Jacksonville

* shut down the nation’s fourth-leading scorer and Tewaaraton Award Watch List member Will Sands, who posted one assist and three shots, in Navy’s 13-8 win over Bucknell

Max Tuttle, Sacred Heart (Jr., M, Castle Rock, Colo.)
* had three goals and an assist in a 10-9 overtime win over Providence, including the tying goal with 56 seconds left and the winning goal on the first possession of OT; also went over the 100-point mark for his career

Cade Van Raaphorst, Duke (Jr., D, Phoenix, Ariz.)
* had three caused turnovers and four ground balls while leading a defense that forced more turnovers (25) than it allowed shots (24) in a 14-4 win over Richmond
