ANNAPOLIS, Md. —  The Naval Academy Athletic Association will hold its annual “Meet the Mids” event following Saturday’s Navy vs. Colgate men’s lacrosse tilt slated for 12:00 pm at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.  The Midshipmen will be available for autographs on the Blue Concourse, with the first 300 kids in line for the postgame autograph session receiving a “Meet the Mids” t-shirt, compliments of Annapolis area Chick-fil-A and Papa Johns.   In addition, Navy’s 2014 men’s lacrosse poster and an autograph card featuring the team photo will be available, along with prizes which will be handed out throughout the autograph session.

The Midshipmen own a 3-4 record and enter Saturday’s contest having won three of their four games at home this season.  Annapolis native and Severna Park High School product Sam Jones, along with second-year standout attackman T.J. Hanzsche are atop the scoring leader board for Navy.  With 27 points to date, Jones is just three points shy of becoming one of only seven players in school history to score 30 or more points as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.  He has scored 15 goals and added a team-best 12 assists this season.  Hanzsche, meanwhile, has amassed 18 points on a team-high 16 goals and two assists.

Faceoff specialist Brady Dove has been sensational in his rookie campaign, winning 61.0 percent (94-154) of the draws he has taken.  He has already broken the program record for faceoffs won and attempted by a freshman, stands 14th on the career wins list and is tied for 13th nationally in faceoff winning percentage.

Navy owns an 11-5 series advantage over the 6-2 Colgate Raiders.  Meanwhile, five of the last six meetings between the two schools have been decided by one goal.

Tickets ($10 adults, $5 students) to Saturday’s contest may be purchased in advance at the Navy Ticket Office, via the internet at www.NavySports.com or at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on game day.  Fans unable to attend Saturday’s contest can tune in to 1430 AM/99.9 FM WNAV to hear Pete Medhurst and Joe Miller call the action. Additionally, fans can watch the free video stream of the game on the Mids’ web site at www.NavySports.com or www.PatriotLeague.tv(.)
