ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy senior midfielder Patrick Moran (Annapolis, Md.) and sophomore goalkeeper RJ Wickham (Penn Yan, N.Y.) were among the 88 student-athletes named to the 2010 USILA All-America teams announced Thursday morning.  Both first-time recipients of the honor, Moran and Wickham become the 270th and 271st different Midshipmen to garner the more than 425 All-America certificates in Navy lacrosse history.  Navy has had at least one player recognized on the All-America team since the award was first handed out in 1922 (89 years).

A three-time First-Team All-Patriot League midfielder, Moran was the 2010 recipient of the Coach William H. "Dinty" Moore Award which is presented to Navy's outstanding offensive player.  He paced the Mids this season with 38 points on a team-best 28 goals and 10 assists. Along the way, Moran produced a goal or an assist in 14 of the 15 games in his senior year, including goals in 12 contests.

He was one of 23 players in Div. I lacrosse to post hat tricks in six or more games over the course of the season, including one of only six midfielders. His six hat tricks are the most by a Navy player since Ian Dingman finished the 2007 campaign with seven. Additionally, Moran is the first Navy midfielder to record six hat tricks since two-time All-American Adam Borcz in 2001. As was the case over the last few seasons, he played an instrumental role in the success of the Mids' extra-man unit. He leant his sharp-shooter skills to 15 of the Mids' 22 extra-man goals, punching in a team-best nine goals while assisting on six more.

Moran was also responsible for two of Navy's three game-winners in overtime in 2010, including Patriot League victories over Bucknell and Colgate. He is believed to be the first Navy player to record a pair of game-winning overtime goals in a single season.

Moran is on tap to graduate from the Naval Academy on Friday, where he will be commissioned an Ensign into the United States Navy.  His service assignment is surface warfare.  Additionally, Moran has been invited to take part in the 2010 MLL Warrior Major League Challenge & Collegiate Draft on June 6 in New Haven, Conn.

The 2010 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, Wickham enjoyed a spectacular season which has culminated in him being named an Honorable Mention All-American. On April 16, Wickham was named one of the 26 nominees for the 2010 Tewaaraton Trophy, recognized as the most prized award in college lacrosse. He was one of four goalkeepers on the list, joining Syracuse's John Galloway, Loyola's Jake Hagelin and Drexel's Mark Manos.

One of the highlights of the season was his 19-save performance against Loyola which marked the best effort by a Navy keeper since former Navy team captain Seth DiNola turned away 21 shots on goal in a losing effort against Penn State (5-4) on April 12, 2003.  It was one of 10 games this season in which Wickham reached double-figure saves.

Wickham stands No. 4 in the nation in save percentage, turning back 59.3 percent of the shots he's faced. Additionally, he's 12th in goals-against average, giving up 8.55 goals per contest. As a team, the Midshipmen are ranked No. 6 in saves per game, stopping 12.60 shots on goal. Wickham finished the 2010 campaign with 188 saves, the sixth-most saves in program history.  It's the most saves by a Navy player since Mickey Jarboe turned away 215 shots en route to winning the Kelly Award in 1999. He fell just 12 saves shy of becoming only the fourth player in the school's 103-year history of the sport to reach the 200-save milestone in a single season.

Remarkably, just two years into his career, he Wickham has already broken into the program's top 20 career saves leader board. After turning aside 17 shots against fourth-ranked Maryland (4-10), he become only the 19th player in school history to reach 200-career saves. With 230 saves, he stands 18th on the Mids' career leader board and is just nine short of being in the top 14.

At Navy's postseason banquet, Wickham was the recipient of the Lt. Robert T. Bianchi Award which is presented to the team's most valuable player.

Moran and Wickham were among six players representing the Patriot League to be selected to the All-America squads -- Army's Jeremy Boltus (HM, Attack), Army's Tom Palesky (HM, Goalkeeper), Bucknell's Austin Winter (HM, Attack) and Lafayette's Steve Serling (HM, Midfield).
