Six Mids Secure Spot on Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Six Navy men’s lacrosse players have been named to the 2017 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll it was announced by the league office. The nine Patriot League schools that sponsor men’s lacrosse combined to place 174 student-athletes on the Men’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll.
Among the six Navy players recognized, just two had previously appeared on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Earning their second academic citation from the league, rising senior goalkeeper Nick Ramsey (Crofton, Md.) produced a 3.63 grade-point average as an economics major, while rising junior Ian Burgoyne (Darien, Conn.) earned a 4.00 grade-point average in mathematics. Burgoyne was one of 12 total student-athletes to earn a 4.00 during the spring semester, including one of three on Navy’s roster.
Meanwhile, four Navy players earned their way on to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the first time, including rising seniors Hiram Carter (Apopka, Fla.) (4.00, Operations Research), David Jones (Annapolis, Md.) (3.28, Operations Research) and Ray Wardell (Babylon, N.Y.) (3.47, Economics). Additionally, freshman Luke Dennen (Indianapolis, Ind.) (4.00, Economics) made his debut on the list.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
