Navy Men's Soccer Announces Incoming Class

Head coach Dave Brandt

July 18, 2014

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy men's soccer head coach Dave Brandt has announced the program's incoming recruits for the Class of 2018. The 10-member class went through induction ceremonies on July 1 and is currently partaking in plebe summer activities at the Naval Academy.

"This is a group of guys who are good players and fit what we do in terms of our playing style and who we are as a program," said Brandt. "All 10 have significant high-level playing experience and are the right guys for what we need on and off the field."

The national class consists of two players from California and two players from South Carolina, while the other six players hail from Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and Virginia. The balanced class features two goalkeepers, three defenders, three midfielders and two forwards. The class has one player who was tabbed as a four-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer (Mac Burke) and five three-star recruits (Matthew Crider, Brock Dudley, Aubrey Jones, Thomas Moore and Ryan Savitt).

Navy (16-4-2, 9-0-0 PL) advanced to the NCAA Second Round in 2013 after winning the Patriot League Tournament and taking down VCU (3-0) in the NCAA First Round. The Mids finished the season ranked No. 25 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll. Navy returns five starters and its top two goal scorers from a year ago.
