ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- NavySports.com recently sat down with Navy rising sophomore defenseman Martin Sanchez to find out more about the men's soccer player from Sailisbury, Md. Sanchez had an outstanding freshman campaign, being named a second-team freshman All-American by CollegeSoccerNews.com)(.) Sanchez says he likes the friendships and the bond between all of the guys on the Navy Soccer team and one day wants to open a surf shop in Ocean City.

The Navy men's soccer team opens its 2011 season on Friday, Aug. 26 with an 8:00 pm match a VCU and on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Old Dominion. The home opener will be the following Thursday (Sept. 1) against Fairleigh Dickinson beginning at 7:00 pm at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
