Meet the Mid Presented by Verizon Wireless ... Eric Wootten

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- recently sat down with Navy rising junior midfielder Eric Wootten to find out more about the men's soccer player from Woodbridge, Va. Wootten is one of the team's top students, owning a 3.81 GPA in honors systems engineering and is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Wootten hails from the same high school of one of the Naval Academy's most famous alums, David Robinson, and aspires to be a Navy doctor.

The Navy men's soccer team opens its 2011 season on Friday, Aug. 26 with an 8:00 pm match a VCU and on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Old Dominion. The home opener will be the following Thursday (Sept. 1) against Fairleigh Dickinson beginning at 7:00 pm at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
