CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Navy men's soccer players Nolan Grebb and Sam Miller have been honored by the Patriot League as its goalkeeper of the week and rookie of the week, respectively, it was announced by the league office today. It marks the first Patriot League weekly honors won by a Navy men's soccer player this year.

Grebb, a senior goalkeeper from Woodbury, N.J., recorded his second shutout of the season and third of his career in Friday's 1-0 double-overtime win over Saint Joseph's. Grebb recorded four stops for the contest, including a spectacular diving stop late in the second period to send the game into overtime. Grebb owns a 1.10 GAA with a .773 save percentage in four games this year. He currently ranks fourth in the Patriot League in goals against average, is third in save percentage and is fourth in saves per game (4.25). Grebb is tied for the league lead with two shutouts.

Miller, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla., celebrated his 19th birthday on Saturday by scoring the game-winning goal on Friday night against Saint Joseph's. His "golden goal" with just 28 seconds left in the second overtime session lifted Navy to a 1-0 victory over the host Hawks, and pushed the Mids winning streak to three games. All three of Navy's wins have come in overtime. Miller is one of seven players to have now scored goals for Navy. Miller, a defensive midfielder, also helped Navy play solid defense, holding Saint Joseph's to just 11 shots for the game, with only five of them coming after the halftime break.

On the Patriot League leaderboards, Chris Marino (Longwood, Fla.) is sixth in points per game (1.00) and sixth in goals (2). Matt Tapajcik (Alexandria, Va.) and Mark Garcia (Tempe, Ariz.) are tied for fourth in the league with two assists. As a team, Navy is fifth in scoring (1.60 gpg) and fourth in goals against average (1.22 gpg).

Nationally out of 204 teams, Navy is 66th in scoring, 50th in shutout percentage, 36th in won-loss percentage and 64th in save percentage. Grebb ranks in the top 100 of saves (63rd), save percentage (76th) and goals against average (82nd).

Navy will host George Washington on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. Tickets can be purchased for just $2 at the ticket gate or by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY.
