CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy senior Dave Arnold (Baltimore, Md.) has been named to the 2013 Patriot League Men's Soccer All-Academic Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. Arnold was one of 11 student-athletes on the all-academic team, which is voted on by the league's men's soccer sports information directors.

This is the third postseason honor of the year for Arnold, who was named to the All-Patriot League Third Team earlier this week. Arnold was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II First Team and he is currently on the Academic All-America ballot.

Arnold ranks fourth on the team with 10 points and he has tallied two goals and six assists. Arnold, who play's Navy's attacking midfielder position, ranks third in the Patriot League in assists and is 10th in points.

Arnold scored goals against UMBC and Bucknell and the goal against Bucknell was the game-winner. He registered two assists in Navy's win at Virginia Tech and also had the primary assist on Navy's game-winning goal against Army in the Star Game last week.

Arnold is Navy's active leader in career games played with 70. He is expected to start in Navy's semifinal game on Friday and would tie the Navy program record for career games played with his 71st cap.

Arnold carries a 3.41 grade-point average as an economics major. He has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times. Arnold has also been named to the Superintendent's List once, the Commandant's List four times and the Dean's List once.

Top-seeded Navy (13-3-2) will host No. 4 Bucknell (13-5-1) in the Patriot League Semifinals on Friday at 4:00 PM. With a win, Navy would advance to the 2013 Patriot League Championship on Sunday at 1:00 PM, which will also be played at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
