Sprint Football Kicks Off Three-Game Homestand with Cornell

Navy and Cornell kickoff at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.


Sprint Football Shuts Out Post, 39-0

The Mids shutout the Eagles for the third consecutive game in the series.

2017 (Freshman): Played in six games on the year, making nine tackles (four solo, five assisted) with 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery … Had a season-high four tackles at Post and against Caldwell … At Post, registered four stops, 2.0 TFLs including a sack with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery … Had two solo tackles and a pair of assisted stops against Caldwell … Added a tackle against Cornell … Made collegiate debut in the season opener at Chestnut Hill, while also seeing action against Mansfield and Franklin Pierce.

High School / Personal: Lettered in both football (3 years) and baseball (3) at Mount Michael Benedictine High School … Named All-State (honorable mention) in 2015 and 2016 in football, while also earning First Team All-Conference accolades and serving as team captain … Tabbed All-State (honorable mention) in baseball as a junior and senior … Student Body president, junior class president, and member of the National Honor Society … Son of Aaron and Melissa Groff … Father, Aaron, wrestled at Dana College, while mother, Melissa, played softball at Regis University.
