Navy hosted Cornell on October 23 in its final CSFL home game of the 2015 season

2016 (Junior): Played and started four games on the year … Made 17 tackles (10 solo, seven assisted) with 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup … Had a season-high six solo tackles at Cornell, including a season-best 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack … Added six stops (three solo) at Franklin Peirce … Also had a sack against Post and a TFL at Franklin Pierce … Recovered a fumble at Franklin Pierce and broke up a pass against Army.

2015 (Sophomore): Leading reserve option for the defensive line as a sophomore with seven appearances off the bench … Totaled 25 tackles (13 solo, 12 assisted) with stops in all seven games … Made a season-high six tackles at Post on Oct. 17 … Came back the next week with five tackles versus Cornell on Oct. 23 … Had six games with 3.0 or more stops … Registered 3.0 tackles for loss for the season, including a sack versus Cornell … Forced a fumble against the Big Red.

2014 (Freshman): Appeared in three games as a freshman defensive lineman … Finished with three tackles (all solo) … Made a season-high two stops versus Post on Oct. 10, including one for a loss.

High School / Personal: Three-sport athlete at Islip HS, lettering in lacrosse (4), football (2), and basketball … Earned the Unsung Hero Award during senior football season (2013) at Islip … Football team went 7-1 and was a Big Four League Champion in 2013 … In lacrosse, was two-time All-Conference (2013 and 2014) and team captain in 2014 … Teammate of Kieran Mullins (Army ’19) in men’s lacrosse … Son of Terence and Mary Ann … Uncle, Charles Coughlin, was a 1981 USNA grad and three-year letterwinner (’79-81) in lacrosse … Cousin, Michael Mathis, graduated from USNA in 2006.
