ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy sprint football team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. The seven-game Collegiate Sprint Football League slate includes three home games that will take place at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
A home date on Friday, Sept. 19 versus Princeton will kick off the 2014 campaign for the Mids, who are coming off of a 6-1 record in 2013. Navy will then take to the road with two consecutive contests away from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, playing at Mansfield (Sept. 27) and at Penn (Oct. 3).
The second half of the Mids' schedule begins with a home matchup on Oct. 10 versus a game Post University squad that challenged Navy with a 42-27 contest last fall in Waterbury, Conn.
Back-to-back road games at Cornell (Oct. 18) and at Franklin Pierce (Oct. 24) close the away portion of the team's 2014 slate. The Mids defeated the Big Red and Ravens by scores of 28-7 and 23-9, respectively in 2013.
A home meeting with Army on Oct. 31 will conclude the season for both programs. The two teams have met with the CSFL title on the line every year since 2001.
Led by captains William Hampton (Sr., Charleston, S.C.) and Jon Moyle (Sr., Tallahassee, Fla.), the Mids return 18 players that earned All-CSFL accolades in 2013.
