DeLong Named CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week
Sept. 20, 2012
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Collegiate Sprint Football League has named Navy senior punter Michael DeLong as its Special Teams Player of the week. It is the first such honor of DeLong's career. In last Friday's win over Coppin State, DeLong helped tilt the field in the Mids' favor as he dropped three of his five punts inside the 20-yard line. He averaged over 35 yards per kick, with a long of 45 yards.
The native of Coppell, Texas, is a two-time All-CSFL performer as last year he was named to the league's first team.
DeLong and the Mids will play their second game of the season this Saturday when they travel to Princeton to meet the Tigers at 2 p.m.
