ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Junior safety Brendan West was named the Collegiate Sprint Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference. After punter Mike DeLong earned the accolade last week, West becomes the second consecutive Mid to garner the award.
West had the first of three Navy special teams touchdowns in last weekend's victory over Princeton as he returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown. He had a total of two returns for 122 yards in the game.
It marks the second time in West's career he has been named the CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week. Last season he garnered the honor after 48-yard punt return for a touchdown in a win over Penn.
Navy will host Post University this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
