ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) has tabbed Navy running back David Williams and defensive back Brendan West as its Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively; it was announced by the conference on Wednesday. It is the first-career CSFL weekly honor for both players.

Williams rushed for 219 yards on 24 carries to help Navy improve to 2-0 on the season as it defeated Penn, 56-0, last Friday. The Roanoke, Va., native also tied a school record as he rushed for four touchdowns, scoring on runs of 10, 35, 43 and 23 yards.

So far this season, Williams has carried 47 times for 361 yards (7.7 avg.).

West earned Special Teams Players of the Week honors after returning a Penn punt 48 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of last Friday's win.

Navy has now converted two punts into touchdowns this season as Williams also blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in Navy's 38-20 win over Army on Sept. 17.

The Midshipmen will play their first home game of the 2011 season on Friday when they host Post at 4:30 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
