Navy Falls to Army in 18th-Annual Anthracite Bowl
Links associated with this release: ST. CLAIR, Pa. (Oct. 7) - The Navy sprint football team was defeated by Army, 21-7, in the 18th-Annual Anthracite Bowl held in St. Clair, Pa. on Saturday. A stingy defense and three touchdown runs by junior quarterback Jonathan Hall proved to be the difference for the Black Knights. Hall scored two touchdowns in the second quarter and one in the third. Navy faced a tough defense in Army. The Black Knights held their first two opponents scoreless and looked to continue that success against the Mids. Navy ended their streak in the fourth quarter when Roger Callahan scored on a one-yard touchdown dive late in the fourth quarter. Ricky Knowles led the Mids in rushing with 21 carries for 91 yards. Callahan finished with seven carries for 28 yards. Navy will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. on Friday, October 13 to take on Cornell at 7:30 pm.
