Sprint Football Travels to Cornell

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Oct. 12) -- The Navy sprint football team opens up Collegiate Sprint Football League play when it travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on the Big Red of Cornell Friday at 7:30.

The Midshipmen (1-1, 0-0) are coming off a 21-7 loss to Army in the 18th-Annual Anthracite Bowl. Senior Ben Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) led the Mids with six receptions for 77 yards in the losing effort. Sophomore Ricky Knowles (White Salmon, Wash./Columbia) led the team in rushing with 88 yards on 21 carries.

Cornell (1-1, 0-0) defeated Princeton 16-13 in overtime September 29. The Big Red came from 13 points down to send the game into overtime. Freshman kicker Evan Andrews hit the game-winning field goal from 26 yards out.
