ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy junior kicker Adrian Montecinos has been named the Collegiate Sprint Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference today. Montecinos helped Navy improve to 4-0 last weekend by booting three field goals in an 11-3 win at Cornell.

Montecinos is the third Navy player to be named CSFL Special Team Player of the Week this season, joining Brendan West (Sept. 26) and Michael DeLong (Sept. 20).

In last Friday's win, Montecinos hit a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter, a 39-yarder in the third quarter, and then gave Navy an eight-point cushion with just over 2:00 to play with a 20-yard field goal. It marked the third time in his career the native of Whittier, Calif., hit three field goals in a game as he last accomplished the feat on Sept. 19, 2010 in a victory over Catholic. The three field goals also tied the program record.

On the season, Montecinos has hit 7-of-8 field-goal attempts and 17-of-18 extra-point tries.

Navy will be in action this Friday when it hosts Mansfield at 7 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
