ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy sprint football freshman Blake Moore (Newhall, Calif.) has been selected as the CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday night.

During his first action of the year in Navy's 58-0 win at Princeton last Friday, Moore blocked the first punt of the game to give the ball at Princeton's nine-yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, the Midshipmen scored the first touchdown of the game and never looked back.

The blocked punt was Navy's first blocked punt of the year and its third since the start of the 2005 season.

Moore is the first Midshipman to earn league special teams honors since Trevor Garabedian-Prophet returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Army last season.

The Midshipmen (3-1, 1-1 CSFL) will play the first of its two home games this year against Penn (1-3, 0-2 CSFL) on Friday night at Rip Miller Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and admission is free.
