ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy sprint football team will be showcased as part of an ESPN feature that will be shown on Saturday’s ESPN College GameDay. The four-minute segment will air at approximately 10:30 a.m. and highlight the lives and dedication of Navy and Army sprint football players. The airing will lead into the squads’ annual Star Game matchup that will be played at West Point on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Last week, ESPN cameras followed sprint captains Brendan West and David Williams during their daily routines, as well as captured team meetings, lifts and practice as part of this project. West, Williams and Navy head coach Maj. Kavan Lake, USMC, then sat down for a series of interviews to conclude the crew’s stay in Annapolis.
The footage and interviews will be edited into a four-minute piece for Saturday and will eventually be used in an extended version to air sometime in early December. More details will follow on the specific date and times of the extended version’s release. ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi will be doing the voiceover and presentation of the feature.
