Swenson Named CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore kicker Jared Swenson (Seymour, Wis.) was named Collegiate Sprint Football League Special Teams Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon as announced by the league office. The accolade is Swenson’s third of the year.
Swenson scored 18 points in Navy's 72-0 victory over Caldwell on Friday night. The sophomore was a perfect 9-for-9 in PAT attempts, while adding three field goals. He connected on field goals of 35, 48, and 19 yards.
The 48-yard field goal marked a career-long for the sophomore, besting his previous long of 37 yards, which he set in the season opener at Chestnut Hill.
In addition to his scoring efforts, Swenson also added 11 kickoffs for 578 total yards (52.5 average).
The sprint football team finished the season 6-2 overall, including a 3-1 record in the CSFL South Division.
