AUSTIN, Texas -- Friday was a busy day for Navy at the NCAA Men's Swimming Championship in Austin, Texas, as three individual event swimmers and a pair of relay teams from the squad took to the pool at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

The day's initial event saw Navy's 200 medley relay team of Brendan Walsh (Jr., Annapolis, Md.), Sean Murphy (Sr., Hudson, Ohio), Jonathan DeBaugh (So., Conroe, Texas) and Dain Bomberger (Jr., Lititz, Pa.) place 23th with a time of 1:26.88.

Tom Duvall (So., Durham, N.H.), who earned All-America honors in the 500 freestyle Thursday night, would place 32nd in Friday's 200 freestyle with a time of 1:35.85. A pair of Mids then competed in the 100 breaststroke event, with Murphy finishing in 26th place (53.63) and Luke Hoffer (Sr., Chapel Hill, N.C.) placing 36th (54.14).

The morning ended with Navy's 800 freestyle foursome of Riley Mita (Jr., Stevenson Ranch, Calif.), Debaugh, Duvall and Bomberger posting a time of 6:30.36 in its heat of the timed final. It was the No. 8 clocking recorded during the morning trial heats and gave the Mids a 24th-place showing overall in the event.

"We were pleased to have a lot of swims today," said Navy head coach Bill Roberts. "We were hoping to do a little better in a few of the events, but we are looking forward to closing out the meet strong tomorrow."

Navy will close out the three-day national championship Saturday with Hoffer and Murphy competing in the 200 breaststroke and Duvall taking part in the 1650 freestyle.
