Men's Swimming & Diving to Face Princeton Saturday
Jan. 4, 2013
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's swimming and diving team will resume its season Saturday when the Midshipmen face Princeton in a 2 p.m. meet to be contested in DeNunzio Pool on the Princeton campus.
Navy enters the meet with a 5-2 record on the season and a No. 7 ranking in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll. Princeton is undefeated through four dual meets this season, is placed atop the mid-major poll and is ranked 23rd nationally among all swimming programs.
The Tigers recorded a 152.5-147.5 victory over the Mids last season in Annapolis. Two seasons ago, Navy became the first visiting team to defeat Princeton in DeNunzio Pool since the facility opened in 1990 when the Mids won a 167-133 decision over the Tigers.
"The next month is a very competitive month for us beginning with our meet at Princeton this weekend," said Navy head coach Bill Roberts. "We have had some terrific meets with Coach Rob Orr's team over the years and look forward to racing and competing on Saturday."
Princeton will be offering a live video stream of the meet for the cost of $9.95. A link to the stream can be found at NavySports.com.
