CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Patriot League office announced Monday that Navy's Ben Freedman (Jr., Kennewick, Wash.) has been selected as this week's men's diver of the week in the league.
Freedman picked up his third award of the season and eighth accolade of his career for his performance during Navy's meet Saturday at Princeton. He placed third on both boards -- less than four points out of second place on the three meter and within five points of second on the one meter -- against the Tigers with scores of 275.47 on the one meter and 320.10 on the three meter. Freedman has now placed among the top-three divers on each board six times in eight dual meets this season.
Both Navy swimming and diving programs will be in action Saturday when the Mids play host to North Carolina in Lejeune Hall. The opening event for the meet is slated to start at 11 a.m.
