ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams will play host to Penn State Saturday at 11 a.m. in Lejeune Hall.
Navy's men's team has compiled a 5-3 record this season and this week made its first appearance of the year in the College Swimming Coaches Association National Poll. The Mids are ranked 24th in the Jan. 22 edition of the poll. Penn State's men's team has posted a 4-1 record this season and is ranked 23rd nationally. The Nittany Lions won a 188-112 decision over the Mids one season ago.
"This meet on Saturday is another excellent opportunity for our team to race and compete with a ranked opponent," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts. "We have had two very good weeks of training and are looking forward to racing and diving again Saturday."
The Navy women enter the meet with a record of 4-3 this year, while Penn State's women's squad has split the four meets it has competed in thus far this season. The Nittany Lions are ranked 17th nationally. Penn State defeated the Mids by the count of 185-107 last season.
"We are looking forward to hosting a very good Big Ten team," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison. "Last season, Penn State had an incredible year and they are again looking very tough this season. This will be an exciting and emotional meet for our first class, as it is their senior day. No doubt, we will have to step up big to compete with the Nittany Lions, but we are up to the challenge. This is the type of challenge that will definitely prepare us for our league championship."

All fans without a Department of Defense identification card will need to park outside of the Naval Academy and walk through the gate one security checkpoint.
