ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The United States is one of over 100 countries slated to send teams to this year's World Military Games that opens this week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Included on the U.S. roster are a number of former Naval Academy student-athletes.
This is the fifth edition of the World Military Games, which is held once every four years and is sponsored by the International Military Sports Council. Athletes from the countries are all members of that nation's military. Medals will be awarded in over 20 sports during the games, which will utilize some of the facilities that will be used during the 2016 Olympics.
