ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's Pete Donahue, Luke Hoffer and Laura Gorinski were each recognized this week as Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
Swimmers are eligible for the honorable mention designation for attaining an NCAA `B' cut time in the pool as well as at least a 3.50 grade-point average in either the 2011 spring semester or for their overall collegiate academic career.
Recent Naval Academy graduate Donahue posted a 3.63 GPA during his final semester on The Yard, rising sophomore Hoffer attained a 3.56 GPA this past spring and rising junior Gorinski attained a 3.61 GPA during the spring term.
Each of the three swimmers posted B cut times in the 200 breaststroke event, with Gorinski also recording a B cut time in the 100 breaststroke.
