ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy and Air Force diving teams will hold an exhibition Friday afternoon in Lejeune Hall starting at 4 p.m.
The event will serve as the first competition to take place on the new diving tower in the facility. The project that totaled over $1 million features new 1 and 3-meter springboard areas, as well as new 5, 7.5 and 10-meter platforms. Over 100 yards of concrete form the new cantilevered tower, with glass handrails connecting walkways to each of the diving sections.
"Having Air Force here is a great way for us to not only open the season, but also put our new diving tower into use," said Navy diving coach Joe Suriano. "It will be a fun afternoon with some great competition going on between the teams."
