League Honors Men’s Swimmer & Diver
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Connor Davis (Sr., Shelton, Conn.) and Bradley Buchter (So., Hickory, N.C.) from the Navy men’s swimming and diving team garnered weekly honors from the Patriot League on Tuesday. Davis earned the men’s swimmer-of-the-week award and Buchter was named as top men’s diver of the week.
The duo received their respective accolade for their performance during Navy’s sweep of American (191-68), Bucknell (189-86) and Lafayette (191-95) Saturday in Lewisburg, Pa.
Davis had a hand in three victories during the meet. He began his day by swimming the breaststroke leg on Navy’s winning 200 medley relay team. The foursome of Mids collectively posted a time of 1:32.10 to win the event by six-hundredths of a second, and Davis individually recorded the fastest breaststroke time (25.50) in the race by 44-hundredths of a second.
He would go on to sweep the sprint freestyle events Saturday, winning both the 50 free (20.84) and the 100 free (46.01) by a little more than three-tenths of a second.
Buchter won both of the diving events contested during the meet. He scored 348.30 points to win the one-meter board by 30 points and tallied 360.70 points to win the three-meter event by 39 points.
Navy, 7-0 on the season, will next be in action Nov. 16-18 when its takes part in the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
