Is an honors political science major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA ... has been named as an ITA Scholar-Athlete in each of his three seasons ... tabbed as the 2010 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's tennis ... has been named to the USNA Superintendent's List in six semesters ... also named to the 2008, `09 and `10 Patriot League Academic Honor Rolls.
Ranked second on the team with 23 doubles wins during the overall season ... teamed with Jason Hill for the majority of his doubles matches ... the duo posted a record of 22-5 on the year, with all of their matches coming at No. 3 doubles ... the Birger-Hill tandem was 7-0 on the season against league foes ... led Navy with eight singles wins during the fall season ... won the `D' flight's consolation singles title and teamed with Jason Hill to win the `C' flight doubles title at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational.
Led Navy with 17 doubles wins during the dual meet season and with 21 doubles wins over the course of the entire campaign ... all but one of his matches was played with 2009 graduate Jason Hill ... the duo posted a 12-2 record at No. 2 doubles, which included a 7-0 record against Patriot League opponents ... included among the setbacks for the Birger-Hill tandem was a 9-8 (7-4) loss to Alex Rafiee and Brennan Boyajian from #22 North Carolina.
Led Navy with a 6-1 record in singles during the fall season ... was tabbed as the Patriot League Player of the Month for October ... posted a 5-1 record in singles over the month of play ... tallied the most doubles wins for the Mids during the spring season with a 17-11 record ... his overall doubles mark on the year of 19-16 tied him for team-high honors ... combined with 2010 graduate Ramsey Lemaich for a 14-10 record at No. 2 doubles during the dual meet season.
