ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team will have another busy weekend ahead of it as the Mids are slated to play a total of three matches over the two days. The Midshipmen will first play Saturday at 1 p.m. at Old Dominion before returning to Annapolis for matches Sunday against Loyola (Noon) and Morgan State (5 p.m.).

Navy saw its record fall to 7-4 on the season with a 7-0 loss at Penn this past Wednesday afternoon. The individual matches were much closer than the final score indicates as four of the singles matches were extended into three sets.

Old Dominion (15-10 last season) has posted a lofty record of 11-2 this season. The Monarchs recently defeated UNC Greensboro by the score of 4-3. Navy dropped a 6-1 decision to the Spartans last weekend.

"Old Dominion recently beat UNC Greensboro so we know we are in for a good match," said Navy head coach John Officer. "We will need everyone at their best. Our doubleheader on Sunday will be a good chance to compete in front of our home fans."

In a scheduling quirk, Loyola and Morgan State will face each other on Saturday. The Greyhounds (12-7 last year) will be opening their season that day, while the Bears (7-13 last season) will be looking to record their first win of the year after dropping their initial three matches of the season.

Navy last faced Old Dominion a decade ago, the last time the Mids and the Greyhounds squared off was in 1944 and Sunday's match for Navy against Morgan State will be the inaugural meeting between the two Maryland programs.
