Links associated with this release: The Navy tennis team will close its regular season Wednesday when the Midshipmen travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to face Pennsylvania in a 2 p.m. match. Navy enters the match with a 16-9 record, while the Quakers are 8-8 on the season. Last season, Penn defeated Navy, 5-2, in a match played in Annapolis. "Penn is an very solid team," said Navy head coach John Officer. "They have most of their starters back from last year's team that beat us, including Frantisek Stejskal who defeated Mitch Koch and qualified for the NCAAs. Our rivalry with Penn has gone back and forth over the years with many exciting matches. We need take the play to them and be at our best." Officer will be counting heavily on the doubles team of Cameron Lickle (So., Weston, Mass.) and Chris McGrath (So., Media, Pa.) to continue their strong play. The Navy tandem has won its last four matches together while posting an 11-3 record this spring. Lickle and McGrath have spent the majority of the season playing No. 2 doubles, where they have a 6-3 record. This coming weekend Navy will travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to compete in the Patriot League Championship.
