Men’s Tennis Seeded Second in League Tournament

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– The Navy men’s tennis team garnered the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament that will be played this week in Annapolis. The bracket for the nine-team, four-day event was announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Navy (4-1 in league matches) will open tournament play Friday at 4:30 p.m. against No. 7 Loyola (2-4) in the fourth and final quarterfinal round match of the day. The Mids posted a 5-2 victory over the Greyhounds two weeks ago.

Army West Point (6-1), which lost to Navy by the score of 4-1 Saturday at West Point, received the tournament's No. 1 seed.

The outdoor courts on the USNA grounds adjacent to Dahlgren Hall will serve as the primary site for the tournament. Play will be moved to the Tose Family Tennis Center should weather force matches indoors.

Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card. Shuttle bus service will not be available for the tournament. Those without appropriate identification must park outside of the USNA and walk through the gate one visitors center. Please note that a government issued identification card must be carried and presented by visitors ages 18 and older to the USNA prior to being allowed onto The Yard, and those ages 17 and younger without an appropriate ID must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and Washington State must produce their driver’s license AND a second ID card before being admitted.

There are no vehicle restrictions to attend matches played at the Tose Family Tennis Center.
