Men's Tennis Duo Earns All-League Honors
May 8, 2013
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Navy men's tennis players Calvin Mark (So., Unionville, Calif.) and Peter McDonald (So., Chapel Hill, N.C.) each earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors from the league's coaches on Wednesday. It is the second-straight year in which both players received the laurel.
Mark tallied a 17-9 record as Navy's No. 1 singles player this spring, while McDonald posted a 15-9 record while playing No. 2 singles. Mark compiled a 5-3 record against Patriot League foes, with McDonald recording a mark of 5-2 in league matches. The Mark-McDonald tandem also combined for an overall record of 14-7 and a league mark of 4-4 as Navy's No. 1 doubles team.
Navy was the lone school to place a pair of players on the league's first team.
The two players join Nate Nelms as the lone Mids to have garnered first-team all-league accolades as both a freshman and sophomore under the current all-league recognition format established in 2003.
Navy tallied a 17-12 record during the 2013 spring season and advanced to the championship match of the Patriot League Tournament for the sixth time in the last seven years.
