ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Three members of the Navy men's tennis team will travel to Charlottesville, Va., this week to take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Atlantic Regional Championship. The event that is being contested on the Virginia campus begins Thursday.

The ITA's Atlantic Region includes schools located in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington, D.C.

Representing Navy at the tournament will be Marcus Rebersak (Sr., Pittsburgh, Pa.), Calvin Mark (Fr., Union City, Calif.) and Blake Daniel (Fr., Overland Park, Kan.). Mark and Daniel are entered into the qualifying portion of the singles competition, which will be held Thursday, with Rebersak entered into the main draw that begins Friday. Additionally, Rebersak and Mark will compete as a doubles team at the event.

Rebersak recorded up one singles victory in the 2010 main draw of the championship before losing in the second round. He and 2010 graduate Jeremy New received a first-round bye in doubles last year and lost in the second round.

"This event is a chance to test yourself individually against the best players and teams in the region," said Navy head coach John Officer. "We look forward to that challenge."

The brackets for the championship have not yet been announced.
