The performance of Navy's distance runners led the Mids to a quad meet win over Rutgers, Temple and Maryland


Van Orden, Throwers Impress in Men's Track Outdoor Home Opener (3.28.09)

Mark Van Orden led a dominant effort by the Mids' throwers as Navy topped the four-team field in its outdoor home opener.

Junior Season (2008-09):

• IC4A qualifier and Navy's second-ranked discus thrower
• Won the discus against Army with career- and season-best 161' toss
• Point-scorer at Patriot League Outdoor Championship, finishing sixth in the hammer
• Recorded PR hammer toss of 175'5" at conference meet
• Notched career-best 54'1¾" in weight throw versus Army

Sophomore Season (2007-08):

• Finished eighth in weight throw at indoor league meet with season-best 50'7 1/4" toss
• Produced three IC4A-qualifying marks in the discus, highlighted by a season-best of 160'9"
• Placed third in the hammer against Army with a then-PR of 156'3"

Freshman Season (2006-07):
• Finished ninth in discus at league championship

• A 2006 graduate Kadoka High School in S.D.
• Earned six letters in track, four in football and two in wrestling
