Buffone Named League's Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year

He joins former teammate Chris Galvin as the only student-athletes in the past five years to win the Scholar-Athlete award in both the indoor and outdoor season in the same year.


Navy Captures Outdoor League Crown; Sweeps League Titles For Second-Straight Year

Navy became the first team to sweep league titles in back-to-back seasons since Army West Point accomplished the feat in 2006 and 2007.

• Earned second team all-league laurels in the 5K at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship with a time of 14:28.61
• Grabbed the 5K individual title at the Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet with a time of 14:34.64
• Recorded his first career individual title in the 5K at the Patriot League Indoor Championship with a time of 14:16.87
• Tallied a fourth-place finish in the 3,000m run at the Patriot League Indoor Championship with a time of 8:18.13

2013-14 (Sophomore Season):
• Finished second in the 5K with a time of 14:37.88 at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship
• Ran an 8:20.17 in the 3K for third place at the Patriot League Indoor Championship
• Tallied an IC4A-qualifying time of 4:13.46 in the mile run at the Wesley A. Brown Invite
• Recorded an indoor season-best 8:20.01 in the 3K at Navy's five-team meet

2012-13 (Freshman Season):
• Ran a leg of the 4x800m relay team that clocked an IC4A-qualifying time of 7:50.82 at the Army-Navy Indoor Meet
• Ran a season-best 4:01.13 in the 1,500m run at the Widener Invite
• Placed third in the 1,000m run at the Navy three-team meet with a time of 2:31.20
• Finished sixth in the 3K at the Princeton dual meet with a time of 8:37.16

High School / Personal:

• A 2012 graduate of Hart High School, where he earned eight total letters in cross country and track and field
• Helped the Hart track and field team place third at the state meet in 2012
• Finished 12th at the 2011 California cross country state championships and helped Hart High School to a seventh-place finish as a team
• A three-time captain of the cross country team
• Son of Mark and Linda Peckham
