High School / Personal:
• A 2012 graduate of Monticello High School, where he competed on the track and field and cross country teams
• Won the 2012 Illinois track state championship in the 3200m
• Took second place in the 1600m at the 2012 Illinois track state championships and was part of the 4x800m relay team that captured the state title
• Won the 2011 Illinois Class 1A cross country state championship
• Helped lead both the cross country and track teams to third-place finishes at the state championships as a senior
