CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After strong performances in a dual meet win over Princeton, the Navy men's track & field squad swept the Patriot League weekly awards on Monday, announced by the conference office. All three winners were first time recipients of their respected honors.
Sophomore Jordan Sartor-Francis (Jonesboro, Ga.) was named Patriot League Male Track Athlete of the Week following two first-place finishes, one in the 60-meter dash and the other in the 200-meter dash. Sartor-Francis ran the 60-meter dash in 6.95 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 21.78, both times were IC4A-qualifying marks. The sophomore sprinter has swept the 60-meter and 200-meter dash in consecutive meets.
Senior Derrick Petett (Lexington Park, Md.) was named Patriot League Male Field Athlete of the Week following his performance in the weight throw, placing first with a mark of 17.52 meters. His 17.52 mark garnered Petett his first Patriot League weekly award of his career.
Freshman Khaalif Wolfe (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) was tabbed the Patriot League Male Rookie of the Week after a first-place performance in the triple jump. Wolfe recorded a mark of 14.14 meters in the Princeton dual meet, which was .29 meters better than his first career mark at the Navy Invitational.
Navy will continue its indoor season when it hosts American, Hampton, Maryland-Eastern Shore and Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Wesley A. Brown Field House. The meet is slated for 11 a.m.
