ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's track and field program (1-0) will host four schools this weekend at the Wesley Brown Field House. Navy will compete against American, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Mount St. Mary's and VCU on Saturday.

The field events will begin with the weight throw on Saturday at 11:00 AM and the first event on the track will be the heptathlon's 60m hurdles at 11:15 AM. Four heptathlon events will also be held Friday night at Wesley Brown, beginning at 5:00 PM.

Navy won this meet last season, amassing 197 team points to top UMES (108), UNC-Wilmington (99), VCU (56.5), Mount St. Mary's (33.5) and American (19). The Mids took first place in six events.

Navy is coming off a 91-89 dual meet win over Princeton last Sunday. The Mids won eight events at Princeton and evened the all-time dual series at 21-21.

Freshman Jeremy Granderson was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his performance at Princeton and becomes the second plebe this season behind pole vaulter Jaie Maness to earn rookie of the week honors from the conference.

Navy ended up with 10 IC4A qualifying standards after the NCAA-mandated flat track conversions rates were applied and three milers were under the IC4A standard (Weston Kennedy, Kyle Satterwhite and Steve Schroeder).
