ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's track & field team looks to extend its indoor season success in a five-team meet against Catholic, UMBC, Delaware State and McDaniel on Saturday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House.  The meet will begin at 11 a.m. in the field with the weight throw. The track events will follow at noon with the preliminaries for the 60m hurdles.

Navy placed first out of five teams last Saturday in its five-team meet. The Mids recorded 17 IC4A-qualifying performances and won 11 of the 17 total scored events.

Derrick Petett garnered him the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. The Lexington Park, Md. native's first-place mark of 18.35 in the weight throw was an IC4A-qualifying performance and a personal best.

Captain Zack Duncavage was ranked 18th in United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Poll in the weight throw. He attained the 18th-place ranking with his throw of 19.81m in the 2013 Patriot League Indoor Championships on Feb. 15. His current mark of 18.66m set at the Navy Invitational is 32nd best in the nation.

Jordan Sartor-Francis continues his dominance in the 60-meter dash, winning for the third consecutive time in as many meets. Sartor-Francis' 60-meter dash time of 6.92 was his third-straight IC4A-qualifying time and first-place finish.

Sophomore Nick Palermo ran his best 800-meter run of his career, recording a personal-best, first-place finish and IC4A-qualifying time of 1:53.74. His 800-meter run time on Saturday was a 1.57 seconds faster than his previous-best at the George Mason Spring Invitational (4/13/13).

Navy will have one more tune-up meet when it hosts the Wesley A. Brown Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 25 before its star meet against archrival Army on Feb. 1.
