Navy Men's Track & Field Team Set To Compete At Penn Relays

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Navy men's outdoor track & field team (7-0) will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to compete in the Penn Relays Thursday-Saturday.

The Midshipmen are fresh off their recent performance at the Florida Invitational. Navy had a strong day in the field events. Leading the way was Jacob Cahalan (So./West Warwick, R.I.) who took first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 168' 6". Steve Ranes (Jr./Phoenix, Ariz.) had a strong day, posting two top-five finishes. Ranes finished second in the shot put with a throw of 53' 5-1/2" and also took fourth in the discus with a mark of 142' 5".

"We performed fairly well," said Navy head coach Steve Cooksey of the Mids showing in the Florida Invitational. "The competition was tough. We're ready for the Penn Relays."
