ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men’s track and field program (0-0) will host an eight-team field on Friday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House. The weight throw will begin at 5:00 PM and the first running event will be the 5000m run at 6:00 pm.
The Mids will welcome American, Coppin State, Delaware State, Georgetown, Lincoln (Pa.), Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State and Mount St. Mary’s on Friday.

Navy won the 4x400m relay and sophomore Jiles Maness
won the pole vault to highlight the season-opening Navy Invitational at Wesley A. Brown Field House last season.
Navy is looking to carry over a very successful 2012-13 indoor season in which the Mids swept all four major Patriot League awards Track Athlete (Weston Kennedy), Field Athlete (Zack Duncavage), Rookie (Austin Batiste)and Coach of the Year (Stephen Cooksey) and took home its fifth League title in 10 years.
The Mids indoor season will be captained by senior Zack Duncavage. Duncavage, a two-time Patriot League discus champion, looks for the three-peat and improve on his League-record and school-record mark of 192-8 (58.74m) this season.
In the outdoor season, Navy will have senior Weston Kennedy captain the Mids. Kennedy, who competes in the distance races, will look to defend his individual indoor Patriot League titles in 1000m run and mile.
Navy will next host Princeton on Saturday, January 5 in a dual meet. The Mids defeated the Tigers, 91-89, in last season’s dual meet.
