ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The No. 15-ranked Navy water polo team outscored four opponents, 82-24, to run its unbeaten streak to nine games on Saturday's action of the Navy Invitational at Macdonough Hall in Annapolis.

The Midshipmen are now 9-0 on the season after besting Connecticut College (25-7), Univ. of Toronto (21-6), Penn State Behrend (17-5) and Fordham (19-6) on Saturday.

Navy's offense continues to flex its muscles, outscoring five opponents thus far this weekend by a combined 108-31. In nine games this year, Navy has scored a whopping 195 goals, averaging 21.7 goals per game. Just three times this year has Navy been held under 20 goals.

Navy's first game was a 25-7 win over Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. The Midshipmen jumped out to a 9-0 lead after one quarter, before stretching the margin to 16-1 at intermission.

Jesse Walker, Jared Griffin and Robert Sutherland paced Navy with four goals, while Paul Pedrotty and Eric Schwamb dished out three assists each. Fifteen different players scored goals for Navy. In goal, Tyler Barker and Caleb Lintz each had six saves.

The Midshipmen then toppled the University of Toronto, 21-6, in game two of Navy's action. Pedrotty paced Navy with seven points on six goals and one assist. He surpassed the 100-goal plateau for his career in the victory. Schwamb added seven points (3 g, 4 a) and Jack Finch tallied six points (2 g, 4 a). Will Weggeland chipped in with three goals. Anthony Gutierrez and Barker made seven saves in goal for the Midshipmen.

In game three, the Midshipmen outscored Penn State Behrend, 17-5. Twelve different players scored goals led by Carl Dowzicky's three netters. Vikram Kanth recorded five saves in goal, while three other goalkeepers combined to make six saves.

In the nightcap, Navy topped Fordham, 19-6. The Rams had posted an impressive win over George Washington earlier this year, but Navy started quickly and never looked back in running its winning streak to nine games. Thomas Patterson paced Navy with three goals, while four other players connected on two goals each. Lintz paced four Navy goalkeepers with seven saves.

Navy hosts Washington & Jefferson on Sunday afternoon at 2:15 PM in Macdonough Hall.
