ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy senior water polo player Paul Pedrotty has been named an honorable mention All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches after leading Navy to a 23-6 record and a CWPA Southern Division regular-season crown.

The award marks the 14th straight year that a Navy water polo player has earned All-American accolades and Pedrotty becomes the 21st player to earn All-America distinction. The 21 players have combined for 32 citations since 1984. Pedrotty was one of seven Eastern players to be named to an All-America squad.

Pedrotty, a 6-2 attacker from Coronado, Calif., had one of the top statistical seasons in school history for the Midshipmen. He led the team with 137 points on 91 goals and 46 assists. His 137 points are the second most in school history, while his 91 goals were third most and the 46 assists were fourth most.

Pedrotty finished his career with 244 points, the 11th most by a player in school history. Over the last two seasons, Pedrotty tallied 215 of his 244 points on 149 goals and 66 assists.

The Midshipmen won at least 20 games for the eighth straight year and started the season with a 20-2 record en route to the CWPA Southern Division regular-season crown.
