ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy senior attack Paul Pedrotty has been named the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week for his role in four blowout victories this weekend at the season-opening Navy Labor Day Open.

Pedrotty, a senior attack from Coronado, Calif., earned the award after scoring 19 points (14 g, 5 a) in four Navy wins over the weekend. In the season-opening 25-5 win over Gannon, Pedrotty tallied a career-five goals and matched his career high with six points. He then netted four goals and an assist in an 18-13 win over Iona to give him nine goals and two assists for 11 points in two games on Saturday.

On Sunday, he dished out an assist in the 22-8 win over Notre Dame (Ohio), then responded with a career-high seven points (5 g, 2 a) in a 22-9 win over Cerritos College (Calif.). By scoring in each of the four games, Pedrotty ran his scoring streak to 19 games (games that he has played in), dating back to last year.

Pedrotty, who ranked second on the team in scoring a year ago with 78 points (58 goals, 20 assists), now has 126 career points and needs just six more goals to reach 100 for his career.

Pedrotty and his teammates will be idle this weekend and will host the Navy Invitational on Sept. 14-16.
