Mids To Defend All-Academy Championship Title

Navy has been crowned the champion in 12 of the 19 All-Academy Championships.

Cox in 2006-07: Amateur Wrestling News lists Cox ninth at 149 pounds in its preseason rankings ... ranked sixth according to the Wrestling Report ... in the Atlantic Region, Wrestling Report has Cox ranked No. 2.

2003-04: Recipient of the 2004 Coaches Award, for his leadership and work habits throughout the year ... picked up a 20-6 overall record and a 9-2 mark in dual meets in his freshman campaign ... tallied a 3-2 mark at the EIWA Championships to capture fifth place at 149 pounds ... recorded three technical falls, including one over Purdue's Dan Jankowski at the Lone Star Duals ... also teched East Stroudsburg's Nick Rock in January ... finished the regular season with two straight tournament titles, winning the Sunshine Open and the All-Academy Championship ... became the second freshman at Navy to win an All-Academy title.

High School: A 2002 graduate of Grand Haven High School, Cox was a four-year letterwinner in wrestling ... attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2002-03 academy year ... posted a 52-1 record en route to the 2002 Michigan State Championship, and finishing third at Nationals ... earned back-to-back fifth-place finishes in 1999 and 2000 at the Michigan State Championships, and placed third in 2001 ... also earned two letters in football, as a defensive tackle ... member of the National Honor Society.
